Spiral Glazed Ham

Servings: 12-16 | Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cook Time: 2 hours 30 minutes | Total Time: 2 hours 45 minutes

Ingredients

Ham

Glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove ham from packaging and drain any liquid. Pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Place ham cut-side down in a large roasting pan. Add ½ cup water to the bottom of the pan.
  4. Cover tightly with aluminum foil.
  5. Bake for 1 hour 30 minutes (about 10-12 minutes per pound).
  6. While ham is baking, make the glaze: In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, melted butter, ground cloves, cinnamon, and black pepper.
  7. Bring glaze to a simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently. Cook for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
  8. After 1 hour 30 minutes, remove ham from oven and carefully remove foil (watch for steam).
  9. Brush ham generously with half of the glaze, making sure to get it between the slices.
  10. Return ham to oven uncovered and bake for 45 minutes, brushing with remaining glaze every 15 minutes.
  11. Ham is done when internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C) on a meat thermometer.
  12. Remove from oven and let rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
  13. Serve warm with any remaining glaze on the side.
Notes:
• If ham starts to brown too quickly, tent loosely with foil.
• Most spiral-cut hams are pre-cooked, so you're just heating through and adding glaze.
• Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days and make excellent sandwiches or additions to soups and casseroles.
