Quiche Lorraine
Ingredients
- 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
- 12 slices of bacon (fried & crumbled)
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 2 cups cream (whipping or light)
- 1/8 teaspoon red pepper
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 unbaked pastry shell
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Sprinkle cheese, bacon, and onion in unbaked pastry shell.
- Beat eggs in a bowl, then blend in remaining ingredients (cream, red pepper, salt, and sugar).
- Pour cream mixture into the pie plate.
- Bake at 375°F for approximately 45 minutes or until filling is golden and a knife comes clean when inserted 1 inch from edge.
- Before serving, let stand for 10 minutes.
- Serve in wedges.
Adaptations:
Mom uses 6 eggs instead of 4.
Tim uses 9 eggs and only 1 cup of cream.
