  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef or Italian sausage over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add diced onion, garlic, and Italian seasoning. Cook until onion is soft.
  4. Stir in Barilla marinara sauce and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, and black pepper.
  6. In a 9x13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce.
  7. Layer 4 oven-ready lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  8. Spread 1/3 of the ricotta mixture over noodles, followed by 1/3 of the meat sauce.
  9. Repeat layers two more times, finishing with remaining meat sauce.
  10. Sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top.
  11. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
  12. Let lasagna rest for 10 minutes before serving.
For extra flavor, add fresh basil between the layers. Serve with a side of garlic bread and a fresh salad for a complete meal.
